Yes, the rumors are true. I am finishing out my final week at the Big 550 KTRS. With that, I have a few thoughts I’d like to share.
First, to the ownership, management, and staff at KTRS, thank you. You allowed a guy with zero radio experience to speak on your airwaves – day one. I will be forever grateful for that opportunity.
Second, to you, my loyal listener, thank you. I have no clue why you continue to tune it, but I am so thankful that you do.
Third, to the sponsors who have invested in me, thank you. You make local radio possible.
Finally, to my new home, KFMO 1240 A.M., thank you. I am thrilled and can’t wait to get started!
So, now what? Well, I’ll be starting at my new station working in the newsroom, getting acclimated to my new station and market. Sometime in early 2021, I will take the reigns as Morning Talk Show Host.

Just between you and me, I only discovered the Farmer Dave show because I was having trouble sleeping one early morning and flipped on KTRS by mistake (I pushed the button I thought was KMOX), and there was Farmer Dave. We realized a long time goal of owning a weekend place in the country in 2014. It is in Pike County, Mo. Ever since—even fighting some major reception problems—I have been a listener and now automatically awake early! When you came on to the show, it became even better!
I know you will prosper in the future and will try to tune in via app.
Meant to include that when we became neighbors to so many farmers, the agri news became a lot more relevant!
